Our ride to Mukinge :D

We were all so excited to wake up on Wednesday morning and know that finally this is the day we go to Mukinge! At 7am we drive out to the airport and are greeted by an amazingly big and bright African sun. I try not to laugh as our poor pilot tries to fit our ridiculously huge volume of groceries and luggage into the little hold.
The little plane is so cool! We put on our earmuffs and our eyes are glued to the windows, trying to take in the country we’re flying over. I know it straight away when I see Mukinge Hill. The area is really green and I can see the river, and the place looks amazing. From the air I can see the hospital complex and the houses around it – one of which I will live in… ahh it’s so exciting! And so many people have come to welcome us at the airstrip!
